Guy Meador Burney, 88, of Center Point, Texas, passed away Saturday, January 17, 2015, in a Kerrville care center.\r\n\r\nThe youngest of three children, he was born November 4, 1926, in Center Point, Texas to Billie and Clinton DeWitt Burney. A life-long resident of Center Point, Guy graduated from Center Point High School and married Betty Lee Hodges on December 18, 1948.\r\n\r\nAffectionately known as "Boy", Guy worked in several lumberyards in Kerrville, including Kerr County Lumber and Hill Country Lumber, and managed the Center Point branch of Hill Country Lumber until it closed. Upon retirement, he worked part-time as custodian of the Center Point Post Office. He served his community as a member of the Center Point School Board, and was a member of the Kerrville Lions Club and Center Point United Methodist Church.\r\n\r\nSurvivors of Guy Burney are his daughter Lynnette Burney Tidwell of Odem, Texas, and his son Sammy Burney and wife Marsha of Center Point; grandchildren Luke Tidwell, Beth Flach Pitts and husband Luke Pitts, and Randy Flach; and five great-grandsons. Also surviving are his sister Jackie Burney Hamlyn, sister-in-law Alene Burney, sister-in-law LaVerne Hodges Peterson, brother-in-law Lamar Hodges and spouse Armando Tamez-Ramirez, numerous nieces, nephews , great-nieces and great-nephews.\r\n\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Max Burney, his son-in-law Keith Tidwell, and his wife Betty Lee Burney. \r\n\r\nA memorial service for Guy will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, January 22, 2015, at the Center Point United Methodist Church, with Rev.
