Gordon Sproul Morriss, 65, passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2017 in Kerrville. He was born in Kerrville, Texas to Sproul Abner Morriss, and Annie Laurie Morriss, on September 11, 1952. \r\n \r\nHe attended school at the Divide Elementary School and graduated from Rocksprings High School. He attended Schreiner College before transferring to Texas A&M University. He received his Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics from Texas A&M in 1974. He earned his Law degree at Texas Tech University in 1977, and immediately returned to Kerrville to practice law. He served as County Judge of Kerr County from 1983 to 1986. \r\n \r\nNo other man could ever love his mother, his son, fishing, cooking, the Astros, Texas A&M, and we can't forget, Gus and Niña, like Gordon Morriss did. \r\n \r\nGordon is preceded in death by his father, Sproul, his mother, Annie Laurie, and his beloved Gus and Niña. \r\n \r\nGordon is survived by son, Gordon ("Sancho") Jr., daughter, Jessica, sister, Anne Horne, nephew, nieces, cousins, and many close friends. \r\n \r\nA Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 2, 2017, at Grimes Funeral Chapels in Kerrville, TX. \r\n \r\nIn lieu of flowers, the family asks for your consideration of becoming an organ donor (donatelifetexas.org).\r\n \r\nThe family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the numerous doctors, nurses, caretakers, friends and family that helped Gordon through his journey. \r\n \r\nWe would also like to give a heart felt thank you to his special friend Fatima with whom he was able to spend the last few years with in Costa Rica. Those few years were perhaps the happiest of his life.
