Glenn Thatcher of Kerrville, passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2014. He was 85 years old.\r\n \r\nHe was born in Francitas, TX to Charles H. Thatcher and Ethel C. (Legg) Thatcher on January 8, 1929. He was the oldest of three sons.\r\n \r\nWhen Glenn was seven months old, his family moved to Southern California. He attended school there and met the love of his life, Ruth Faryewicz. They were married June 30, 1946.\r\n \r\nGlenn worked for Standard Stations for 10 years and then worked for General Dynamics for 29 years before retiring and moving to Kerrville in 1991 from San Diego, CA.\r\n \r\nHe was also a Mason for almost 60 years and was a member of the Kerrville Masonic Lodge #697 AF & AM.\r\n \r\nHe was preceded in death by his brother, Byron C. Thatcher of Oregon.\r\n \r\nGlenn is survived by his wife, Ruth and daughter, Cathy Carper and her husband, Bill Carper of Kerrville; son, Robert Thatcher and his wife, Carol and son, Ronald Thatcher, all of San Diego, CA. He had 4 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, all of which he loved very much. He is also survived by his brother, Harold "Bud" Thatcher of Crooked River Ranch, OR.\r\n \r\nGlenn loved his family, his friends and neighbors. He was proud to be a Texan.\r\n \r\nMemorial services will be held at Grimes Funeral Chapels on Monday, December 15, 2014 at 10:00 AM.\r\n \r\nMemorials may be given to M.D. Anderson Cancer Center or Shriners Hospital, both of Houston, TX.\r\n \r\nThe family of Glenn wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the staff of Hilltop Village for their special care and extended friendliness.\r\n \r\n[contact-form-7 id="73" title="Send Condolences"]
