Glenn A Beiter, Jr. of Kerrville, Texas passed away January 2, 2017. He was born in Des Moines, Iowa to Dorothy Wenzel Beiter and Glenn A. Beiter, Sr. on April 2, 1938. He went to school in Peoria, Illinois and Chicago, Illinois.\r\n \r\nWhile in high school, Glenn was a member of ROTC rising to the rank of Cadet Major. He enjoyed being on the rifle shooting team and target shooting became a life long passion. Glenn entered Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa and was recruited into the Air Force because of his electrical engineering skills. Posted to Denver, Colorado, Glenn taught engineering as part of the pilot training course. He was recruited to join Honeywell, Inc. as an electrical engineer and project manager. He and his family lived in Louviers, Colorado and he joined the Volunteer Fire Department where he became Chief. When he retired, Glenn moved to New Mexico and built his home overlooking Navajo Lake. He became interested in and studied the Indian culture collecting many artifacts while enjoying the out of doors especially hiking and boating. Glenn also enjoyed wood working making clocks and furniture. When he and his wife, Jeri, moved to Kerrville, Texas, he became an active member of The First Presbyterian Church of Ingram. He was elected to the Session several times.\r\n \r\nAfter the death of his wife, Jerrilyn Dunwoody Beiter, Glenn became reacquainted with his high school sweet heart, Sue Long. They were married on September 25, 2010 and eventually moved back to Kerrville. Surviving are his wife, Sue, children, Scott and wife Tawny and their children Shawn, Christopher, Caden and Kristyn, daughter Cindy, and husband Rick and their son Sean. \r\n \r\nA memorial service lead by Pastor Raymond Tear assisted by The Rev. Thomas Murray, III will be held at The First Presbyterian Church of Ingram on Friday, Jan 27, 2017 at 11:00 am.\r\n \r\nIn lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The First Presbyterian Church of Ingram.\r\n
