Glen R. Caldwell (Capt., USAF, Retired) passed away at the age of 79 in Kerrville, TX on June 27, 2021. Originally from Pickens, West Virginia, he served 22 years in the Unites States Air Force. Stationed in Texas at the time of his retirement, he and his wife of 57 years, Irene (neé Dittler) moved to Kerrville 30 years ago. As the saying goes, "He was not born in Texas but got here as fast as he could." He was proud to serve in the Air Force and was a member of one of the first classes of Physician Assistants in the Air Force's training program. He enjoyed seeing patients, and after his retirement from the Air Force, he joined a private practice in Burkburnett, TX for several years. He then managed several programs at the American Red Cross in Wichita Falls until he and Irene moved to the Hill Country. He missed seeing patients and was able to work for the Veteran's Administration in Kerrville until he retired from the Civil Service. After retiring, he enjoyed caring for his yard, tinkering around the house, and had taken up leather crafting. He and Irene also enjoyed traveling the States. He is survived by his wife, Irene; his son, Glen and his wife, Susan Allen; his daughter, Sandra Bowden and her husband, David. He is also the Grandpa of 5 grandchildren, Autumn, Nick, Jesse, Desiree and Jade; and 8 great-grandchildren. Glen did not wish to have any services but asked that memorials be made to the American Red Cross or Peterson Hospice.
