Gertrude Crooks

Gertrude Mary Augusta Grona Crooks, age 103 of Kerrville, passed away on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 in Kerrville. She was born in Kerrville to William (Max) Grona and Olga Durst on December 1, 1914. She married Raymond Albert Crooks on October 23, 1944 in Kerrville.\r\n \r\nGert went to school at Tivy in Kerrville. She worked as a telephone operator for Kerrville Telephone Company for 33 years.\r\n \r\nGert was preceded in death by husband, Raymond A. Crooks and son, Raymond A. Crooks II (Ray).\r\n \r\nGert is survived by grandchildren, Raymond A. Crooks III (Trey) and Shannon Shane Crooks (Shane); nephew, Sandy Guillaudeu; great-grandchildren, Cheyenne Crooks, Colten Crooks, and Dylan Crooks; great-great-grandchild, Noah Marie Crooks; daughter-in-law, Patsy Crooks; and extended family and friends.\r\n \r\nMemorial services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Zion Lutheran Church officiated by Pastor Mike Williams.\r\n \r\nInstead of flowers, memorials may be given to a charity of one's choice.\r\n \r\nThe family of Gert Crooks wishes to extend a sincere thanks to Pastor Don and Barbara, Reba, Ute, Pastor Mike, quilting ladies, Mountain Villa (Fabian), Alamo Hospice and Zion Lutheran Church members.\r\n
