Gertrud Tenberg

Gertrud "Nana" Frida Tenberg went to be with her Lord on December 3, 2019 at Hilltop Village Nursing Home in Kerrville, Texas. Gertrud passed away peacefully in her sleep.\r\n\r\nShe was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton D. Tenberg in 2008. Also preceding her in death were her parents, two brothers and eight sisters.\r\n\r\nShe leaves behind her daughter, Tina Moseley and husband Mike, her three grandsons Kaleb and wife Jenna, Seth and wife Jill and Bryce, along with three great-grandchildren Madelyn Marie, Charles Clifton and Karaleigh Trudy.\r\n\r\nTrudy was born to Karl Gustav Koschenz and Anna Maria Elisabeth Friedrich Koschenz on February 6, 1924 in Schwetig, Germany. Born in what is now Poland, her family moved to Munich during World War II. She met her husband to be, Clifton, in Munich when he was stationed there while serving in the United States Army. He brought her back to Kerrville, Texas where they were married in the Zion Lutheran Church on August 18, 1956. In 1969, they moved to the Upper Turtle Creek area.\r\n\r\nTrudy, as most people knew her, has gone by Nana for the last thirty-three plus years. Nana loved to be outdoors. She had a green thumb and liked raising chickens. Her two greatest loves though were spending time with her three grandsons and fishing.\r\n\r\nGraveside services will be at 10:00 AM, Thursday, December 12, 2019 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Road, San Antonio, Texas. Trudy loved to listen to her son-in-law (Mike Moseley) preach and he will be officiating the service.\r\n\r\nIn lieu of flowers donations may be made to:\r\nTurtle Creek Volunteer Fire Department\r\n290 Upper Turtle Creek Road\r\nKerrville, Texas 78028 \r\n\r\nThe family would like to extend their appreciation for the loving care given to Trudy by Hilltop Village and Peterson Hospice. \r\n
