Gerald Stouppe

Gerald Frank Stouppe (Jerry) 82 of Kerrville, Texas, passed away on May 29, 2015.\r\n\r\nBeloved husband and best friend to Janette, was born to Marjorie Helen Reddinger Stouppe and Gerald Edward Stouppe, on February 2, 1933, Johnstown, Pennsylvania.\r\n \r\nJerry was one of four children. The Stouppe family, moved to Lorain, Ohio when Jerry was nine years old. In 1945, the Stouppe family, again relocated to San Bernardino, California. On his 18th birthday (1951), Jerry joined the U.S. Marine Corps. Upon completion of Advanced Infantry Training, Jerry rapidly rose to the rank of Sergeant and served in the Korean Conflict where he was seriously injured, losing his right leg. \r\n\r\nJerry was hired as a Civil Service Electrician's Apprentice in 1953, working 34 1/2 years, retiring in December, 1988, as a Supervisory Electrician at McGuire Air Force Base, New Jersey.\r\n \r\nJerry met and married his wife Janette Elizabeth Oliver, whom he has been with until his death. In January 1989, Jerry and Janette moved to Kerrville, Texas to spend their retirement. Together they enjoyed traveling, outdoor activities, wonderful friends, and neighbors.\r\n\r\nIn addition to Jerry's devoted wife of 40 years Janette, surviving are: his son David Stouppe, New Jersey; daughter Debbie Major, Kansas; Sisters Beverly Ann Egan, Margie Stark; Brother Robert G. Stouppe; numerous grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.\r\n\r\nFull military burial service to be performed at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery on June 11, 2015 at 11:30 AM. A memorial church service at Kerrville Veterans Administration Hospital Chapel at a later date. \r\n\r\nJanette was fond of the following quote by Joanne Woodward "Sexiness wears thin after a while, and beauty fades, but to be married to a man who makes you laugh every day, ah, now that's a real treat." I was a Marine, I am a Marine; and a Marine I will always be until the day when I depart the earth's air, its land, and sea.
