Georgia Erfurt

Georgia Mae Erfurt, 89, a resident of Tarpley, Texas passed away in a San Antonio hospital on Saturday, July 28, 2018.\r\n\r\nGeorgia Mae was born June 17, 1929 in Hondo, Texas to Nora Geuea Anderson and Warren Milton Anderson. On August 6, 1947 she was united in marriage to Arthur H. Erfurt in Hondo, Texas. Together they owned and operated Erfurt's Store in Tarpley from 1957 to 1978. She also worked as a substitute mail carrier which became a full time job and lasted for more than twenty years. She attended Tarpley Baptist Church.\r\n\r\nGeorgia Mae was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Kenneth Anderson and her husband of fifty-six years Arthur H. Erfurt. Survivors include her children Ella Mae Sandidge and her husband Dan, Marcia Short and her husband Les, Artie Erfurt and his wife Bunny; her brother Charles Anderson and wife, Peggy; special nephew, Rick Anderson and wife Clare Jo; grandchildren Matt Sandidge and his wife Angela, Carrie Sandidge Ervin and her husband Neal, Sara Erfurt, Lauryn Erfurt Moore and her husband Owen; great grandchildren Logan, Delaney and Lila Sandidge, Georgia Ann and Lilly D'Spain, Peyton and Paxton Ervin, and Cameron Arthur Moore; numerous nieces and nephews; also several extended family members and many treasured friends.\r\n\r\nThe family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday, August 3, 2018 at Grimes Funeral Chapels of Bandera. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Grimes Funeral Chapels of Bandera with Rev. Dick Sisk officiating. Interment will follow at Tarpley Cemetery.\r\n\r\nThose who desire may make memorial gifts to the Tarpley VFD, Tarpley Community Center, Meals on Wheels or Tarpley Baptist Church, all worthy endeavors that were dear to Georgia Mae or to the charity of one's choice.
