Georgia Cook

November 28, 1945 — May 23, 2017

Georgia Rae Green Cook, 71, of Hunt, TX, graduated to her final resting place on Tuesday morning, May 23rd. She passed away with her loyal and loving husband, Pete, by her side.\r\n \r\nBorn on November 28, 1945 in Houston, TX to Bud and Ruth (Brown) Green, Georgia lived out a happy childhood and spent her summers on the Guadalupe in Hunt. She graduated from Memorial High School, and then her path took her to the University of Texas, and soon after, she relocated to the Texas Hill Country where her family resided. In Kerrville, she began a successful real estate career lasting over 38 years, until the day of her death. In 1987, Georgia Rae Green married John "Pete" Cook. They enjoyed a life full of love and laughs together on the Rockin' R family ranch in Hunt.\r\n \r\nThose who had the pleasure of meeting Georgia didn't soon forget her. She had an unforgettable, contagious smile and a boisterous laugh. There was no one more full of life and vivacious than Daw…she never met a stranger, and you also never had to wonder what she was thinking. Although she was bold and strong and outspoken, at the same time she was incredibly tender-hearted and kind, making her a very unique, special, benevolent soul.\r\n \r\nGeorgia's life was fueled by the love for her family. Nothing was more important to her. She adored her three grandchildren, and they adored her. She also had a passion for real estate, enjoyed reading, and spending time with friends and family at the ranch. She was the life of the party, and without a doubt continues to be.\r\n \r\nIn her lifetime she accomplished everything most of us strive for. She had thousands of friends she'd met along the way whom she'd left with a smile, three loving grandchildren and a loving son and daughter-in-law, a doting and loyal husband, a successful, long-lasting real estate career, and a lifetime full of love, laughs, and happiness, just to name a few. The stories of Georgia Cook are endless, and will forever remain cherished memories.\r\n \r\nGeorgia is preceded in death by her parents, Bud and Ruth Green. She is survived by her husband, Pete; her son and daughter-in-law, Beaux and Kristen Cook, and their three children, Holland, Logan and Colt; her sister and brother-in-law, Mike and David Symm, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.\r\n \r\nServices will be held at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Kerrville, TX on Friday, June 2nd, at 10:00 AM. A reception will follow. Private burial services will be held at the family ranch at a later date.\r\n
