Gene Yevak

September 12, 1936 — May 27, 2020

Gene Ann Yevak, 83, passed away on May 27th in Boerne, TX. She was born in Gainesville, TX to Weldon & Dorothy Dozier on September 12, 1936. \r\nGene Ann Dozier married Edward John Yevak on his birthday in 1957. He was the city boy from New York, she was the Southern bell from Texas. While on a trip to Texas with his buddies, he tipped over her inner tube on Lake Texoma and the rest is history. Many said Gene looked like Elizabeth Taylor. I won't argue that. She was beautiful. \r\nShe spent many years in the Interior Design industry under the company named for her, "The Genie". Working alongside her husband Ed and many other builders and architects she decorated and furnished literally hundreds of residents, commercial, and model homes. Gene retired and moved to Boerne in 1986. Actually Gene never retired…She was always involved in projects and continued to have an impact on the Interior Design industry. \r\nGene and Ed were always looking for ways to make a di?erence. In 2001, they felt the Lord leading them to ministry. They ended up moving to Harlingen to begin, "Sharing Jesus Ministries". And they did "share Jesus"…with hundreds of people from the southern border into Mexico. Working with individuals and orphanages they enlisted people from all over the nation to be a part of this Ministry. They touched countless lives and welcomed many into the Kingdom of God.\r\nIn 2013, they closed the Ministry and remained in Harlingen until March of 2020, when they moved to Boerne. Gene loved the Lord and the Lord loved her.\r\nGene will be forever in the heart of her husband Ed, children Mark (Melissa), Kim Felts (Ronny), her grandchildren Shawn and Dylan, Kody, Travis, Austin, and Carson, and great grandchildren Michael, Annabelle, Lillian, Addison, and Oliver.\r\nThe family will honor her request to have a private service at a speci?c tree on a hill where she and Ed began their lives in Boerne.
