Gene Martin

Gene Aubrey Martin age 82 passed away at his home Monday, March 26, 2018 after a courageous battle with a long illness. Gene was born October 7, 1935 in Turnatown, Texas to Grace Lee Andrews Martin and William L. Martin. \r\n\r\nHe served his country honorably in the United States Army. He also enjoyed a long career as a field superintendent for Texaco. Gene and Sherry Smith were married July 1, 1993. They have been residents of the Bandera area for many years.\r\n\r\nGene was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Monte Martin; his sister Teddy Murchie; his sister Betty Jo and her husband John Baugh; his first wife and mother of his children Linda Martin; and Sherry's son Robby Smith. \r\n\r\nHe is survived by his wife of 24 years Sherry; daughter Aubrey Storm and husband Bryan; son Jack Lamar Martin and wife Kathie; sister Sherry Chitty and husband Alfred; 5 grandchildren Camryn, Lane, Raegan and Dyllen as well as Young Sam; also extended family and many treasured friends and acquaintances.\r\n\r\nA Celebration of Life will be held at Grimes Funeral Chapels of Bandera on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 11:00 AM.\r\n
