Fred C. Wright, 78, of Kerrville, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2016 with his beloved family and friends at his bedside. He was born in Uvalde, Texas to Frank T. Wright and Estella Doerr Wright on May 8, 1938. He married his high school sweetheart, Gradene Rogers on August 29, 1959 in Hondo, Texas.\r\n\r\nHe graduated from Hondo High School and attended Texas State University, formerly Southwest Texas State University, earning his Master Degree in Chemistry. Upon completing his college education, he went to work for Dow Chemical in Lake Jackson, Texas. In the 1960's he and Gradene moved to Kerrville and began working for the United States Department of Agriculture as a research chemist where he had many publications and awards for his work there. After retiring from the USDA in 1990, he began yet another career at Equitech International and became Vice President of Operations. He was very active in his church, Calvary Temple and loved by its members.\r\n\r\nFred is proceeded in death by his parents, Frank and Estella Wright, his brother John A. Wright and sister-in-law Sheryl Wright. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Gradene Wright of Kerrville; daughters, Michelle Wright Wheeler of Kerrville and Courtney Wright Howerton and husband, Mike Howerton of Royce City, Texas; brother, Larry Wright and wife Barbara of Junction, Texas; sister, Lynette Biediger and husband Claude of Bandera, Texas; sister-in-law, JoAnna Wright of Brownwood, Texas; grandchildren, Ashley Wheeler of Kerrville, Tobin Wheeler, USMC of Havelock, NC, Tyler Wheeler and wife Keann of Kerrville, Blake and Braden Howerton of Royce City, Texas; five great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.\r\n\r\nFuneral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 18, 2016 at Calvary Temple Church, 3000 Loop 534, Kerrville, Texas with Pastor Del Way officiating. Burial will follow at Hondo Cemetery in Hondo, Texas.\r\nPallbearers will be David Lee, Mike Hensley, Karl Stengel, Dale Cade, Mike Bays and Sonny Cofer.\r\n\r\nMemorials may be made to Calvary Temple Youth and Bread for Life International, Cameroon.\r\n\r\nThe family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Drs.
