Frank Pickens

Leroy Pickens, age 91, of Harwood, Texas, passed away Thursday, September 26, 2019, at his residence. On July 2, 1928, he was born in Bandera County to Edgar and Delia (McCarthy) Pickens. In 1947, he graduated from Bandera High School where he participated in sports and other school activities. He was happily married to Eva Mae Hinds in Bandera on August 29, 1949. She preceded him in death on April 2, 2004 after 54 years of marriage. They were a happy and devoted couple who had many friends.\r\n\r\nLeroy honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was discharged in 1954. He was employed by Shell Oil Company for 36 years. Following his retirement, he resided and ranched at Harwood since 1990. In addition to owning property in Gonzales County, he was also a property owner in Bandera County where he was well known and highly esteemed.\r\n\r\nIt was Leroy's desire that no service would be held.\r\n
