Frank Noonan Lowry, age 95, passed away on Saturday, June 4, 2016. He was born October 2, 1920 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Virginia Linton and Francis W. Lowry. He married Jean E. McGinnis on June 15, 1946 in Kinderhook, New York.\r\n \r\nFrank resided in Illinois and graduated from Northern Illinois University with additional advanced studies at Northwestern University and the University of Maine in Orono, Maine.\r\n \r\nDuring World War II, Frank served two years in the Coast Guard and two years in the Navy, stationed mainly in the Aleutians. After the war, he pursued a career as an educator serving as a school principal and superintendent with positions in Illinois, Taiwan, Peru, and Curacao. \r\n \r\nIn 1978, the family retired in Kerrville. During his time here, he was active in the Dietert Center, Habitat for Humanity, the Christian Alliance Ministry, Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, and the Corporal Jacob C. Leicht Memorial Amvets Post 1000.\r\n \r\nFrank is survived by his wife, Jean Lowry; three sons, Scott P. Lowry of California, J. Michael Lowry of Fort Worth, James P. Lowry of Kerrville; two grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.\r\n \r\nFamily graveside services will be held later in the summer at Kinderhook Cemetery in Kinderhook, New York.\r\n \r\nMemorials may be given to Habitat for Humanity, CAM, or the U Bar U Camp and Retreat Center near Mountain Home.\r\n
