Frances Victoria Griva Rankin, 74, of Kerrville, Texas, passed away on June 4, 2016 in Kerrville, Texas. She was born in Benld, Illinois to Marguarite and Venerino Griva on September 22, 1941. She married Richard Dale Rankin on April 6, 1963 in Benld, Illinois.\r\n \r\nShe went to school in Benld, Illinois. She worked for many years as the Director's Assistant at Montgomery County Family Practice Center. She was involved in the Citizen's Police Academy both through the Sheriff's Department and Kerrville Police Department. She volunteered at the Sheriff's Department and enjoyed participating on "ride alongs". She volunteered at the VA hospital and tutored elementary school children for many years in Kerrville. She was also very involved with her Church and with St. Vincent De Paul Thrift Store. Some of her hobbies were reading, oil painting and traveling with friends and family.\r\n \r\nFrances is preceded in death by her son, Jad Torrey Rankin, and her husband, Richard Dale Rankin.\r\n \r\nFrances is survived by her children, Michelle Rankin, Rick and wife Laurie Rankin, and Paulette Rankin; her sister, Pam and husband Doug Hipp; grandchildren Callie, Kenzie and Avery Rankin; other family members, Nicole Ripley, Chuck and Carol Griva, Allison and Mike Allard, Peter and Maureen Faletti; and many other lifetime friends.\r\n \r\nThe Memorial Mass will be at 2 pm, Friday, June 10th at Notre Dame Catholic Church. The Church is located at 909 Main Street, Kerrville, Texas.\r\n \r\nThe Rankin Family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to her close friends and neighbors who supported her during her illness and to Tri County Home Health Services. Our mother was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed.\r\n
