Frances Crowder Beck passed away Sunday, November 9, 2014 after a long, courageous battle against Leukemia.\r\n \r\nFran was born June 18, 1953 to E.W. and Frances Scott Crowder. Her family was among the first settlers to the area, having settled in Center Point in 1859.\r\n \r\nFran's mother had wanted a prim and proper little lady, but Fran leaned more in the direction of a Daddy's Girl, and became quite a Tomboy. Her father schooled her in the use of firearms, and she became quite knowledgeable and proficient with their use.\r\n \r\nFran also had a love of animals, which she surely inherited from her mother. In her younger days, she was very active in stock shows, and she always held a passion for horses.\r\n \r\nFran attended Tivy High School. She was the first female to be enrolled in the Ag program there, and quite possibly the first in Kerr County.\r\n \r\nShe was preceded in death by her mother, Frances Scott Crowder; maternal grandparents, Fletcher and Fanny Scott; and paternal grandmother, Bedah Luckett.\r\n \r\nShe is survived by her father, E.W. Crowder of Center Point; son, Cody Wayne Bishop of San Antonio; son, Shawn Nanny and his wife, Angela; grandson, Jake Nanny and granddaughter, Jenna Nanny, all of San Angelo; and uncle, L.C. Taylor of Kerrville. \r\n \r\nGraveside services will be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2014, 2 PM at Center Point Cemetery.\r\n \r\n[contact-form-7 id="73" title="Send Condolences"]
