Fran Burke

Fran Burke, age 78 of Kerrville, passed away Saturday, September 19, 2015 in a local care center. He was born April 10, 1937 in Brooklyn, NY to Francis Luke Burke and Evelyn Elizabeth (Barrett) Burke. On May 3, 1993, he married Donna Jean Cooper in Houston, TX.\r\n \r\nFran attended grade school at St. Mary's School in Rahway, NJ and graduated from St. Peter's Jesuit Prep School in Jersey City, NJ. In 1961, he graduated from the University of Miami, Miami, FL, then served in the United States Coast Guard for 3 ½ years.\r\n \r\nHe was a longtime member of the Riverhill Country Club and was also a charter member of Comanche Trace Country Club.\r\n \r\nSurvivors include his wife, Donna Burke of Kerrville; daughter, Christine Rae Callihan and her husband, Pat of Houston, TX; grandsons, Justin and Sterling; and sister, Kathy Wright and her husband, Glenn of Richmond, VA.\r\n \r\nBurial will be at Houston National Cemetery at a later date.\r\n \r\nMemorials may be made to Peterson Hospice or a charity of one's choice.\r\n
