Florene Rush

Florene (Flo) Rush, age 82, of Kerrville, passed away early Sunday, March 29, 2015. She was born in Luling, TX on January 8, 1933 to Sercey and Ruth Drummond Eckols. On August 24, 1968 she married William E. (Bill) Rush in Alice, TX. \r\n \r\nShe was a kind, caring nurse at local facilities in Hondo, Bandera and Kerrville who enjoyed spending time with her family, oil painting, working with glass beads and dancing to country music. \r\n \r\nFlo is preceded in death by her parents, Sercey and Ruth; and daughter, Connie Lynn Journey of Nursery, TX. \r\n \r\nMrs. Rush is survived by her devoted husband, William Rush of Kerrville; daughters, Glenna Zimmer and husband Bob of Boerne, and Lucille Jones and husband Gary of Kerrville; sons, Mark Rush and wife Sandy of Tomball, TX, and Mitchell Rush and wife Susan of Belton; 13 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; and dear friends of 58 years, Faye and Mickey Thorp. \r\n \r\nThe family wishes to thank some exceptional people at Edgewater Care Center who are too numerous to name here and the Alamo Hospice who always had their eyes, hands and hearts on Flo especially Amy, Billie and Kathy. Words cannot express our deepest gratitude to her special angel Kathleen. \r\n \r\nA private family service will be held at a later date. \r\n \r\nIn lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in her name to Alamo Hospice, 118 W.
