Evelyn Walton

Evelyn Farar Walton, 80, of Kerrville, TX, passed away on January 4, 2015 in Kerrville. She was born in Burkburnett, TX to Dewey B. Farar and Donnie Nabours Farar on January 26, 1934. She married Jack E. Walton in Portland, TX.\r\n\r\nShe graduated from Odessa High School in 1951. Her scholastic accomplishments placed her very near the top of her class. She worked in a number of professions throughout her life but primarily focused on the most demanding job in the world - being a mother. Until health complications prevented further involvement, she was actively involved in numerous church communities throughout her life.\r\n\r\nJack Elvin Walton of Kerrville precedes her in death.\r\n\r\nShe is survived by Jerry P. and Cheryl Jarnagan of Fairport, NY, Tommy and Lana Jarnagan of Deer Park, TX, Alicia Walton Russell of Portland, TX, Ross E. and Jennifer Walton of Colorado Springs, CO, Jo Anna and Robert D. Gaudsmith of Plano, TX, and Jaci Walton of Floresville, TX. Grandchildren: Kristi Russell, Whitney Russell, Christopher P. Jarnagan and Nicholas T. Jarnagan, Jenna Jarnagan, Mikaela Jarnagan, Ava Walton, and Jack Walton, Ben Gaudsmith and Claire Gaudsmith. Great-grandchild: Cameron Partee.\r\n\r\nVisitation will be 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., Thursday, January 8, 2015 at Grimes Funeral Chapels, 728 Jefferson St., Kerrville, TX.\r\n\r\nFuneral services to be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 9, 2015, also at Grimes Funeral Chapels, 728 Jefferson St., Kerrville, TX., with Mel Hardin of Sunrise Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Glen Rest Cemetery.\r\n\r\nIn lieu of flowers, it is the family's wishes that St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or Shriners Hospitals for Children be recipients of any memorials.
