Evelyn Homesley, of Comfort, Texas passed away Thursday, September 20, 2018 in Kerrville, Texas.\r\n\r\nEvelyn was born to John and Sarah Tomlinson on March 20,1923 in Lovington, New Mexico. She graduated from Mertzon High School in 1940. Evelyn married Ralph Homesley on September 6, 1941. They raised four daughters in Brownwood, Texas. Evelyn worked for 25 years at the USDA Pecan Field Station in Brownwood. She was an avid gardener and loved to square dance. She also loved to go fishing with her husband. She was a member of the Brownwood, Indian Creek, and Kerrville chapters of the Order of The Eastern Star and served as Worthy Matron. She was a member of the African Violet Society and was known for her green thumb. She was a member of Kerrville Church of Christ.\r\n \r\nEvelyn is preceded in death by her husband Ralph in 1993. She is survived by her daughters Sandra West of Comfort, Texas, Kay Meek (Randy) of Alvin, Texas, Jan Solomon (Ray) of Kerrville, Texas, Jill Franklin of Seabrook, Texas, and by her sister Joyce Branham (Finus) of Lubbock, Texas. She had 8 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.\r\n\r\n A funeral service will be held at Grimes Funeral Chapels of Kerrville at 2 p.m. on Monday, September 24, 2018 with Larry Danks, Minister of Worship at Trinity Baptist Church, officiating.\r\n\r\nA visitation will be held at Davis Morris Funeral Home in Brownwood, Texas on Tuesday, September 25, from 1-2 p.m. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Cemetery at 2:30 p.m.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n
