Evelyn Marjorie Drendall Duncan, 81, of Bandera, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on May 28, 2021. She was born on June 2 1939 in Mountain Top, Pennsylvania to George and Lillian Anderson Drendall. Evelyn went to Fountain Hills High School and graduated in the Class of 1957. She then attended Bloomsburg University graduating in 1961 with a BA in Education. She later earned her MA in Clinical Psychology. Evelyn had a career in Education in PA starting as a Special Ed teacher and then later instructed student teachers to become Special Ed teachers. She was also the Director of the Special Education Resource Center known as the SMILE center in Harrisburg PA and then worked as the Child and Adolescent Service System Program Coordinator for Mental Health and Mental Retardation in Lancaster, PA. Evelyn Duncan also enjoyed entertaining as a clown and was a member of both the Tri County Clowns Alley and the Villages Clown Alley #179 of Florida. Her clown name was Posie in Pennsylvania and then was Flora while in Florida. She loved performing in parades, doing children face painting and visiting local nursing homes to entertain the residents. Evelyn attended The Mount Gretna UMC , in PA, New Covenant UMC in the Villages, FL and most recently a member of the Bandera UMC. Her church ministries included the Prison ministry, Stephen's ministry and singing in several choirs. She assisted with UMCOR Sager Brown's emergency supply distribution mission in LA. While in the choir at New Covenant UMC, the choir was invited to sing at Carnegie Hall in New York City. Evelyn greatly enjoyed the experience. Lastly, Evelyn was also a certified Master Gardener in both Pennsylvania and Florida, volunteering many hours to help others to garden. Evelyn Duncan is survived by her son Bruce Allen Duncan of Bandera, TX; sister, Lillian Jean Campbell of Elizabethtown, PA.; grandchildren, Jarrod, Cody, and Amanda Blakely of San Antonio, TX and great grandchild, Seeley James Clussman of San Antonio, TX. A Memorial Service at the Bandera United Methodist Church, Bandera, Texas, will be held at 10 AM, Saturday, June 26, 2021, with a free luncheon to follow.
