\r\nEusevio Balderas Piedra, 79, of Kerrville, went home to be with our Heavenly Father on Thursday February 4th. He was born in Charlotte, TX to Jesus and Fidelia Piedra on December 15th, 1936. Eusevio married Catalina Abete on November 30th, 1957 in Littlefield, Texas.\r\n\r\nHe attended school in Charlotte until the 6th grade and then began working to help support his family. Eusevio's last place of employment was at HEB in Kerrville where he worked for 17 years before retiring. He had his hand at many jobs. Some included being a welder, butcher, and in construction. Two of his notable jobs were as an entrepreneur.\r\n\r\n Eusevio started a company that created art out of wood and medal. Some of his contributions were to his church in Littlefield, TX where they used his art as lecterns and Easter Candle holders. The other job was as a studio recorder for up and coming Conjunto bands in the 1970's. As a self-motivator over his lifetime, Eusevio was always working on something. He never shied away from any challenge especially if it was something he had to learn to do. His passion for music and playing instruments is something he used in his life to bring joy to people and most importantly to Praise God with song in his Catholic Faith.\r\n\r\n As a self-taught musician by ear he learned to play numerous instruments such as the guitar, bajo-sexto, bass, accordion, trumpet and violin to name a few. As a song writer he wrote many songs (Bolero's) over the years. In the last 10 years he was able to get some of his most treasured songs copyrighted at the National office in Washington D.C. Until his retirement he was an active member at Notre Dame and Sacred Heart Church (Comfort) music choirs.\r\n\r\nEusevio is preceded in death by his wife Catalina, both parents, and his siblings; 1 brother Thomas Piedra and 4 sisters, Eulalia Diaz, Mage Ramon, Belia Alcorta and Olivia Longoria; Son in-law Angel Hernandez, Grandson Rudy Uballe and 1 Great Granddaughter Monica Sierra. \r\n\r\nEusevio is survived by his children, daughter Fidelia Montoya and husband Ricardo (Kerrville), daughter Linda Uballe (San Antonio), daughter Raquel Hernandez (Kerrville), son Jaime Piedra and wife Janet (San Antonio), 10 Grandchildren, 16 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandchild. \r\n\r\nRosary will be held at 7pm Monday February 8th at Grimes Funeral Chapels. Visitation will begin at 5pm. \r\nMass of the Resurrection will be held at 9:30am Tuesday February 9th at Notre Dame Catholic Church in Kerrville with Fr. Scott Janysek officiating. Burial will follow at Glen Rest Cemetery.\r\n\r\nPall Bearers will be Jaime Piedra, Ruben Abete, Steven Sierra, Lucas Sierra, Jose Hernandez and Adam Hernandez.\r\n\r\nThe Family of Eusevio Piedra wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the staff at River Hills Health and Rehabilitation Center and Gentiva Hospice for all the love and compassion extended to our father. \r\n\r\nFuneral arrangements are entrusted to Grimes Funeral Chapels of Kerrville.\r\n
