Etta Baker Johnson passed away Sunday, April 1, 2018. Our mom was born in Cordell, Texas on November 24, 1928 to Eugene Laurence Sr. and Deedie Baker. The family soon moved to Utopia where she and her billings would ride a horse to school. They eventually settled in Bandera.\r\n\r\nAfter raising nine children, she went to work for Mooney Aircraft for a few years. She moved on to Lear Siegler Incorporated and traveled to several states and even other countries over the span of her 20 year career with LSI.\r\n\r\nMom enjoyed about 25 years of retirement which included many, many family get-togethers at her home.\r\n\r\nThere were nine of us children: Robert, Eugene, Ruth, Carl, Jo, Deedie, Will, Leroy and Craig. Adding to her legacy were 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren. Eugene Wayne and Etta Ruth preceded her in death.\r\n\r\nMom was dearly loved by everyone that knew her and will be missed very much.\r\n\r\nA celebration of her life will be held at Grimes Funeral Chapels in Bandera Thursday, April 5, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. A graveside service will follow at Bandera Cemetery.
