Ervin Bud Mednansky, 89, of Bandera, Texas passed away on August 10, 2019. He was born in Kadoka, South Dakota to Michael and Emma Michaletz Mednansky on June 5, 1930. He married Ruby Rebecca Ramsey on August 21, 1954 in San Antonio, Texas.\r\n\r\nErvin completed 12 years of school at Kadoka School and graduated May 20, 1948. In 1943, he helped pour concrete for 25 cents an hour because many of the men, including his older brother Art, had enlisted in World War II. During this same time, he also had to work the farm before and after school caring for the animals. In 1949, Ervin made the decision to leave the farm and as a result it had to be sold.\r\n\r\nAfter leaving the farm, he worked for the US Geological Survey until he and his brother, Art started their own construction business working for 75 cents an hour. On December 10, 1951 Ervin joined the Air Force working on jet engines until he was honorably discharged on November 30, 1959 as an Airman 1st Class.\r\nErvin began working various construction jobs and moved to San Antonio. His primary employment was with Albert McNeil from 1957 to 1977 and V.K Knowlton from September 1982 until his retirement as a construction foreman in February 2002. Ervin also loved to hunt and loved the countryside and his home in Bandera.\r\n\r\nErvin Bud Mednansky was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Emma Mednansky; his wife, Ruby Rebecca Mednansky; son, David Lee Miller; brothers, John Mednansky, Mikie Mednansky, Clarence Mednansky, Frank Mednansky, Arthur Mednansky, Edward Mednansky; sisters, Albina Mowery, Clara Pearson, Helen Boyd, Elizabeth Mednansky, Alice Mednansky and Evelyn Mednansky.\r\n\r\nHe is survived by his daughters, Gaynelle Klick of Kerrville, TX and Linda Taylor (Michael) of San Antonio, TX; sons, Joe McGowan (Kathy) of Henderson, NV., Lyle Mednansky of Bandera, TX, Michael Mednansky of San Antonio, TX; and sister, Gladys Lien of Volin, South Dakota; grandchildren, Lance Johnson, Megan Wright, Jake McGowan, Christine Mednansky, Rebecca Juarez, Michael Mednansky, Celeste Seiler, Erika Noriega, Philip Taylor, Bradlee Taylor, and Marissa Taylor; and nineteen great-grandchildren.\r\n\r\nA visitation will be held on Monday, August 19, 2019 at 9:00 AM at Grimes Funeral Chapels in Bandera, TX, with a funeral service following at 10:00 AM. Interment will be Monday, August 19, 2019 at 1:30 PM at Mission Park South Cemetery in San Antonio, TX.
