Pslams 91\r\n\r\nErna Lee Dechert, age 83, passed away peacefully early Monday morning, July 24, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family.\r\n \r\nShe was born on August 21, 1933 in Fredericksburg, Texas to Marvin and Bertha Palmer Durst. She married the love of her life, Clayton "Buster" Dechert, in Kerrville on July 28, 1950. She and her husband owned and operated Durst Upholstery Shop in Kerrville for many years.\r\n \r\nErna Lee was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved to cook and bake for her family and was well known for her famous chocolate pies.\r\n \r\nShe loved the Lord and was a faithful prayer warrior and member of Impact Christian Fellowship.\r\n \r\nErna Lee was preceded in death by her parents and husband. She is survived by her sons, Jerry and Kay Dechert of Kerrville and Chris Dechert of Fort Townson, Oklahoma; one daughter, Linda Remington and Robert Eurlich of Kerrville. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Matt and Noriko Dechert of Melbourne, Australia, Justin Petsch of Kerrville, Krystin Petsch of Marble Falls, Chad and Ashley Wilson of Patterson, LA, Kyle and Kourtney Dechert of New Braunfels, Logan Dechert of Canyon Lake; six great grandchildren, Lucas and Carter Dechert, Kohen and Kylie Dechert and Lexi and Toby Wilson. She is also survived by her brother and sister in law, James and Patsy Durst of Kerrville and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many wonderful friends.\r\n \r\nThe family would like to thank the many friends and family for their faithful support and prayers. Also to Kindred Hospice and the doctors and nurses at Stone Oak Methodist Hospital for their wonderful care provided to Mother. Also a very special thank you to her nephew, David and Lorrie Scott, for opening their home in San Antonio for us to stay.\r\n \r\nServices will be held at 10 AM, Thursday, July 27, 2017 at Impact Christian Fellowship with Rev. Roger Baublit and Rev. John Massey officiating. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her five grandsons and very special friend, Tony Dean.\r\n \r\nVisitation will be from 5-7 PM, Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at Grimes Funeral Chapels.\r\n \r\nMemorial contributions may be made to Impact Christian Fellowship, the Empty Cross Foundation or to the charity of one's choice.
