Elmer Franklin Williams, 93 of Kerrville, TX, passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at his home in Kerrville.\r\n \r\nHe was born in Thornton, AR to Claude "Buck" Williams and Rosalee Anthony Williams on August 21, 1924. He married Mary Louise Thompson on January 12, 1945 in Logansport, LA.\r\n \r\nHe completed high school and later attended the University of Texas. Elmer worked in the sawmill industry and as a rancher. Elmer and Mary moved to Uvalde, TX in 1957 where they ranched and later owned and operated a cotton gin, "Uvalde Gin, Inc." He served on the Board of Directors for Uvalde Bank for 15 years.\r\n \r\nElmer was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Louise Williams; brothers, Houston Williams and Grover Williams; and very special friend, Billie Lou Courtney.\r\n \r\nHe is survived by daughters, Beth Williams Martin of Kerrville and Becky Williams Schroeder of Elgin, TX; son and daughter-in-law, Elmer Franklin Williams Jr. and Janice Williams of Kerrville; eight grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.\r\n \r\nVisitation will be held from 5-7 PM, Thursday, January 18, 2018 at Grimes Funeral Chapels. Cryptside services will be held at 1 PM, Friday, January 19, 2018 at Garden of Memories Mausoleum with Rev. Frankie Enloe of Turtle Creek Community Church officiating.\r\n
