Elizabeth Holm Real, passed away on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 in Kerrville, Texas. She was born in Houston, Texas to parents Pearl Louise Beutel Holm and Edward John Holm on November 30, 1934. She married Aime Frank Real in May of 1976 in Kerrville, Texas.\r\n\r\nElizabeth graduated from San Jacinto High School in Houston where her passion for music began and upon graduation attended the University of Texas at Austin where she pursued a bachelor of music. Her professional career was as a mezzo soprano opera singer. Elizabeth sang for the Houston Grand Opera, where she found her love for Bizet's
Carmen
. She was also a part of the Gilbert and Sullivan Society of Houston, the Houston Summer Symphony and was in the original company of the Texas Opera Theatre.\r\n\r\nShe moved to Kerrville in 1972 and served as a director of the Hill Country Arts Foundation and was also an active member of the Point Theater in Ingram. . Along with her husband Aime, she was also a contributor to the Hill Country District Junior Livestock Show Association. She worked closely for many years with her husband Aime supporting the Real Ranch operations including cattle, sheep, paint horses and hunting camp, as well as starting the Real Ranch kids camp.\r\n\r\nElizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Aime Frank Real, and daughter, Lisa Ott McMinn.\r\n\r\nShe is survived by children, Robert Ott and wife Paige, John Ott and wife Lori, Aime A. Real, Rhonda Real Hardin and husband Tony, and Louis Real; a brother, Jay Holm and wife Mary Jane; a sister, Audrey Holm Russell; grandsons, Trey McMinn and wife Hailey, and Robert John "RJ" McMinn and Ridley Ott; granddaughters, Chelsea and Cassie Hardin; great-grandchildren, Oehler Ott McMinn and Temperance Lynn Hardin; and several beloved nieces and nephews.\r\n\r\nThe family also wishes to recognize and extend our sincere gratitude to Becky Afshari and Jordan for the wonderful care, affection and compassion for the last four years.\r\n\r\nVisitation will be from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm, Sunday, March 18, 2018 at Grimes Funeral Chapels.\r\n\r\nFuneral services will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, March 19, 2018 at St. Peter's Episcopal Church. Burial will follow at Real Ranch Cemetery.\r\n\r\nPallbearers will be Trey McMinn, RJ McMinn, Ridley Ott, Martin Fleming, Trey Holm and Thomas Wallace.\r\n\r\nMemorials may be given to the Hill Country Arts Foundation or Hill Country District Junior Livestock Show Association.
