Myrtle Elaine Cheney, 93, of Bandera, passed away on May 22, 2016 in Boerne. She was born in Hearne, Texas on June 22, 1922 to Myrtle E. and Homer Lee Blagg.\r\n\r\nElaine was an enthusiastic outdoorsman. She was an avid fisherman and hunter. She enjoyed gardening and had a love for all animals. She especially enjoyed raising and training horses to run at the "Bandera Downs". She was an active member of the Pipe Creek First Baptist Church.\r\n\r\nElaine is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas and a sister, Anita Stell.\r\n\r\nShe is survived by her daughter, Sandra Genoway and husband Louis of San Antonio; nieces, Mary Weeks, Pat Eberwein, Delores Parks, Verna Mitchell; nephews, Ronnie Chandler, Jim Stell; grandchildren, David "Rusty"Williams and his wife Lindsey of San Antonio, Crystal Lunsford and her fiance-Lee Kenney; great grandchildren, Kolby Lunsford, Kallie Lunsford, Lane Williams and Trent Williams. \r\n\r\nFuneral services will be held at 3:00 PM, Thursday, May 26, 2016 at Grimes Funeral Chapels in Bandera with the Chaplain Rob Sabin officiating. Interment will follow at Pipe Creek Cemetery. \r\n\r\n
