Edwina Denny Daniel, 87, of Pipe Creek, Texas, passed away on December 16, 2015, surrounded by her loving family. Edwina was born in Katy, Texas to Esten and Eva Denny on November 1, 1928. Edwina was married to D.R. Daniel, Jr. on July 15, 1947, at Katy Methodist Church, Katy, Texas, and until his passing on January 16, 2000. \r\n\r\nEdwina attended Katy elementary school and graduated from Katy High School, where she was involved in many activities. She was a member of the band, a majorette and was the first and second Katy FFA Sweetheart. Edwina was involved in many community organizations throughout her life while she and D.R. ranched in Texas, Wyoming and New Mexico. Edwina was a very accomplished horsewoman and enjoyed ranching for many years. She was a member of the Cattlewomen's Association of Texas, Wyoming and New Mexico and a PEO. Edwina loved to play bridge with her friends at The Silver Sage Community Center in Bandera and enjoyed reading books from the Bandera Library and loved receiving books from family and friends for any occasion. \r\n\r\nEdwina is preceded in death by her husband, D.R. Daniel, Jr. and her parents. She is survived by sons, Michael C. Daniel and D. Reagan Daniel, III; daughter, Denise D. Bryant and her husband, Dell E. Bryant; sister, Lorraine D. McShan; her granddaughter, Katherine D. Crow and husband, Brandon, and their daughters, Allie and Payton; grandson, Parker W. Daniel and wife, Amanda, and their sons, Kody and Hudson. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews and devoted friends. \r\n\r\nAs a young girl, Edwina, was given the nickname "Neno", and throughout her life she was known as Aunt Neno to her nieces and nephews and Neno to her grandchildren, great children and friends. \r\n\r\nA Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., February, 20, 2016, at Pipe Creek Presbyterian Church of Pipe Creek, Texas, with a reception following in the Fellowship Hall. \r\n\r\nIn lieu of flowers and per Edwina's wishes, remembrances may be made to Bandera County Library, Pipe Creek Presbyterian Church, Pipe Creek Volunteer Fire Department, or to a charity of your choice. \r\n\r\nThe family of Edwina wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Rebecca Barrington, M.D. and her staff of Kerrville; nurses Kelly and Bennie, aide Crystal, Glenda and Chaplain Frances of Gentiva Hospice Kerrville; all her Home Instead of Boerne caregivers and a special thank you to her family, friends and neighbors who gave their time, devotion and love to Edwina. \r\n\r\n\r\n
