Edward Dale Rix born July 20, 1934 in Pettus, Texas to Richard Wallace Rix and Mary Ann Miller Rix died January 5, 2015.\r\n\r\nHe leaves behind his wife of 58 years, Audrey Fae Starr Rix, children Carolyn Williamson Butcher, A. W. "Wayne" Williamson and wife Kathryn, Richard Rix and wife Carletta, and Randy Rix and wife Michelle. Grandchildren Christie, Victoria, Heather, Cody, Veronica, Corey, Barry, Dusty, Kami, Andy, Josh, Stephen, Matthew, Michael and Jacob. Also, numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and "adopted" sons Nick Murley and Robert Reeder.\r\n\r\nHe was preceded in death by his siblings Alverta Anderson, Bernice Tullos, Eris Morris, Henry Rix, and Mary Rix, as well as step-son William "Sonny" Allan Williamson.\r\n\r\nDale had many jobs throughout his life. From shucking oysters and working on a shrimp boat, serving in the United States Marine Corps, a short time as a police officer and working a long time in the oilfield. He retired from Otis Engineering as a Superintendent of Special Services in 1991. While working for Otis he and his family travelled and lived in many places such as Singapore, Australia, France, Nigeria, Iran and Alaska to name a few. He and Audrey made their home in Bandera, Texas after his retirement. \r\n\r\nHe enjoyed many things during his life such as horseback riding, hunting, golfing and visiting with his friends at local establishments.\r\n\r\nA celebration of his life will be held 2 PM, Friday, January 9, 2015 at Grimes Funeral Chapels in Bandera, Texas\r\n\r\nIn lieu of flowers donations can be made to the charity of your choice.\r\n\r\n[contact-form-7 id="73" title="Send Condolences"]
