Ed Keller passed from this life on the afternoon of June 8, 2016 at his home in Kerrville, Texas from heart failure.\r\n \r\nEd was born in Cleveland, Ohio on June 15, 1922. He spent his young years there until joining the army and serving his country in the 2nd World War. He met his wife of 67 years, Frances, in Baytown, Texas while he was stationed there during the war. She was 12 and he was 20. Upon returning from his deployment in Europe, he returned to Texas and they began dating in 1946 and were married August 31, 1949. He graduated from the University of Houston in 1951 and began his career as a petroleum geologist, eventually settling in Wyoming and working for what was then Mountain Fuel Supply Company. Upon his retirement when he was a young 55 years old, with his wife Frances by his side, they travelled in their RV throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico. In 1988 he settled in Kerrville, purchasing the family business, the Kerrville KOA. He had many talents and hobbies, but his biggest joy was rebuilding antique cars. He was a perfectionist and his cars are beautiful. He took pride in his physical health and was fanatic about his exercise and his 3 days a week at Peak Fitness where he had many friends. He continued that routine until just 3 months ago. He especially enjoyed his trips to Louisiana with his family to visit the casinos. His many accomplishments and achievements during his lifetime are much too numerous to mention here and he leaves a legacy that will carry on for generations to come. He was so very smart, honest, kind, generous, hardworking, funny and most of all he loved and cared for his family. We will miss you kind husband, dad, grandpa, great grandpa and friend. There are no words that can express the impact you had on us all, and the enormous hole in our hearts. We will fill it with the wonderful memories and stories and they will be passed on forever. You are now and always our greatest hero.\r\n \r\nLeft to cherish and honor his memory are his wife, Frances; children, Richard and Kathleen "Annie"; grandchildren, Jennifer, Constance, Sarah and Chelsea; great grandchildren, Rooney, Gracey and Lily; and good friend and adopted son, John Rogers.\r\n \r\nServices will be held at 11 AM, Monday, June 13, 2016 at Grimes Funeral Chapels officiated by Father Tom Murray. Interment will be held at a later date at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.\r\n \r\nIn lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Cancer Society.\r\n
