Edward William (Bill) Earnest was born on September 17, 1942, in Cuero, Texas to Edward and Mildred Young Earnest. Bill Died May 29, 2018 in a local nursing home. He grew up in Sugar Land, Texas, where he participated in football, basketball, and track. Bill said that the only reason that he kept his grades up was so he could play sports. His dream at an early age was to be a Marine. That dream was realized on the 29th of December in 1964.\r\n\r\nBill completed boot camp, and after infantry training, went to Viet Nam. During the first tour, he received his first Purple Heart. Upon returning to Camp Pendleton, he was an instructor for the Infantry Training Regiment. However, he missed his friends in Viet Nam, and was sent back over. During this tour, he received 2 Purple Hearts. Bill was medical retired from the the Marine Corps on September , 1978. \r\n \r\nAfter leaving the Corps, he worked in Austin, and finally settled in Kerrville, where he worked at Mount Wesley Conference Center for seven years.\r\n \r\nHe is survived by his sisters, Jo Bargineaer (Flem), his twin Judy Moore, and Carolyn Watson (Bob), nieces Cathy Moore and Jennifer Fischl, nephews Scott Moore, Michael Barginear (Cathy), Chris Fischl (Amy), Kurt Fischl (Kelly), and numerous other relatives. \r\n\r\nOne of Bill's greatest joys was going to church on Sundays. He was a true believe in Jesus Christ, and was a loyal member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church. \r\n\r\nMemorial services will be held at 1:30 PM, Monday, July 23, 2018 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Kerrville. \r\n\r\nSemper Fidelis\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n
