TSgt. Edward Z. Capps, USAF Ret., age 86 passed away at his home in Bandera, Texas on Wednesday, March 7, 2018. He was born March 23, 1931 in Harriman, Tennessee to Elsie Ellen and John Henry Capps.\r\n\r\nHe served his country honorably for over twenty years in the United States Air Force retiring in 1969. He was preceded in death by his first wife Jacqueline Capps. He remained a faithful member of Helotes Lodge No. 1429 A.F. & A.M. Edward married Janie E. Bendever on December 20, 1991 in Pipe Creek, Texas.\r\n\r\nSurvivors include his wife Janie of Bandera, Texas; daughters Darlene Morgan and Paula Thompson both of Oklahoma; son James Capps of Pipe Creek, Texas; sister Mary Ellen Walker of North Carolina as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, extended family and friends.\r\n\r\nVisitation will be held on Friday, March 9, 2018 from 4:00 - 5:00 P.M. and on Saturday morning, March 10, 2018 from 9:00 - 10:00 A.M. with a service at 10:00 A.M. with military honors and under the auspices of Helotes Lodge No. 1429.\r\n\r\nInterment will take place at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at a later date.
