Edna Mae Massey, 72 years old, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at her home in New Braunfels, TX surrounded by family. \r\n\r\nEdna Mae, also known as "Shorty" by many, was born in Welfare and raised in Comfort, Texas. She married the love of her life, Jasper Dean Massey of Kerrville, Texas and they celebrated 46 loving years together. Shorty was known for her kind heart as well as her love for her family. She enjoyed sewing, crafting, painting, homemaking, genealogy, and had a love for local history. Her favorite past times involved spending time with her grandchildren and taking drives through the Texas Hill Country.\r\n \r\nShe is survived by her son Jasper William Massey and wife Suzanne, son Joseph Dean Massey and wife Amellia, daughter Jana DeAnn Musick, and five grandchildren: Harper June Massey, Makenna Jolee Musick, Melody Jewel Musick, Teagan Riley Massey, and Molly Kaitlyn Massey.\r\n \r\nVisitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm on Sunday, December 11, 2016 at Grimes Funeral Chapels, 728 Jefferson St., Kerrville, Texas. The funeral service will be held at Grimes Funeral Chapels on Monday, December 12, 2016 at 10 am. The burial service will immediately follow at Turtle Creek Cemetery, 651 Upper Turtle Creek Road, Kerrville, Texas. \r\n \r\nThe family requests donations in lieu of flowers be sent to Hope Hospice, 611 N.
