E.C. Whitehead, 91 of Medina, Tx. passed away peacefully on Friday, June 21, 2019 in Bandera, Tx. He was born to Creed and Ruth Coleman Whitehead on August 30, 1927 in Medina, Tx. E.C graduated from Medina High School in 1945. On May 17, 1949 he married Geneive Hubble and they were married for 61 years until her death on March 2, 2010.\r\n\r\nHe and Geneive settled and built a home on their ranch in Medina, Tx. where they raised their son and daughter. E.C. had a successful business as a homebuilder and carpentry. He was also a full time rancher, raising cattle and goats as well as an avid hunter and fisherman. He served as president on the school board of Medina ISD for 1966 & 1967.\r\n\r\nE.C. is preceded in death by his wife Geneive, daughter Debbie Lynn, grandson Kirk and parents Creed and Ruth Whitehead.\r\n\r\nHe is survived by his son E.C. Whitehead, Jr. and wife Sandy, daughter Rita Simons. Grandsons Chris Whitehead and wife Devie, Allen Simons and wife Lorraine and Michael Simons. Granddaughters Rachel Simons and Joe, Judith Salazar and husband John. Great grandsons Max, Anthony, Ralph and Johnny. Great granddaughters Krisslyn, Ginavieve and Gwen.\r\n\r\nVisitation will be Monday, June 24, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Grimes Funeral Chapel, Bandera, Texas.\r\n\r\nFuneral Services will be held Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Grimes Funeral Chapel, Bandera, Texas with cousin Louis Ray Melton and life time friend Connie Simons officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Rest Cemetery in Medina, Texas\r\n\r\nPallbearers: Chris Whitehead, Michael Simons, Henry Hubble, David Burger, Shane Beckham and Clay Walker.\r\nHonorary Pallbearers: Allen Simons, Max Simons, Anthony Oranday, Ralph Ruiz and Johnny Salazar.\r\n\r\nOn behalf of E.C.'s surviving family, we wish to extend a Sincere "Thank You" to the Staff of Bandera Nursing & Rehab Center and to the many Friends who touched his life.
