Dudley Newman

Dudley Ray Newman passed from this life to begin his new life free from pain on January 4, 2017. Greeting him in heaven is his mother, Margie Estelle Gray and step-father, Clinton Horace Gray. His father, Sam Newman, will also be there to greet him. \r\n \r\nSurvivors include his wife of 37 years, Melba Louise Newman; son, Mark Shane Newman and daughter in law, Jennifer Newman of Mountain Home, Texas; and grandsons, Luke Newman and Seth Newman. Also surviving is his brother, August E. Newman of Edgar Springs, Missouri; step brothers, James Bruce Newman of Johnson City, TX and Glenn Gray and wife, Marilyn of Kailua-Kona, Hawaii; sister, Wanda Morris and brother in law, Jim Morris of Kerrville; numerous cousins; and beloved "Sadie," his constant companion, who is lost now without him.\r\n \r\nDudley served 20 years in service to his much loved country as a radio operator in the Navy during the Vietnam War and in other Naval missions.\r\n \r\nVisitation will be held 4-6 PM, Sunday, January 8, 2017 at Grimes Funeral Chapels.\r\n \r\nServices will be held 2 PM, Monday, January 9, 2017 at Grimes Funeral Chapels officiated by Pastor Thomas Jeffers. Burial with full military honors will be held at 9:30 AM, Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.\r\n
