Dub Crowder

June 9, 1929 — March 29, 2016

E.W. "Dub" Crowder passed away on March 29, 2016. He was born on June 9, 1929 in Stacy, Texas to Everett Wiley Crowder, Sr. and Beadah Witt.\r\n \r\nDub came to Kerr County as a young teenager and soon took a job delivering ice in Kerrville. He then went to work for Pearl Beer as a delivery man. He often spoke fondly of this job, as he worked alongside fellow deliveryman and future entertainer, Ernest Tubb. Dub then entered the field of work that he was meant for - - a career in sales. He sold cars for Peterson's Chevrolet in Kerrville during the 50's and 60's, and real estate into the 80's. Finally, he spent the rest of his life, literally, selling antiques, western memorabilia and most especially, guns.\r\n \r\nDub married Frances Scott, the love of his life, on July 14, 1945. They would share matrimony for almost 70 years until her death in 2014. Together they had one child, Frances Elaine, born June 18, 1953.\r\n \r\nDub's most prized possessions were his friends. He had many and would do anything in his power to lend a helping hand.\r\n \r\nDub was proud to be a member of the Masonic Lodge. He was a Past Master and 65+ year member of Rising Star Lodge #429 AF & AM in Center Point, Texas.\r\n \r\nDub was preceded in death by both parents, his wife Frances Crowder, and his only child, Fran Beck.\r\n \r\nHe is survived by his grandson, Shawn Nanny and his wife, Angela; his great-grandchildren, Jake & Jenna Nanny; brother-in-law, Lee Taylor; and CodyWayne Bishop.\r\n \r\nGraveside Services will be held at 2:00 on Saturday, April 2 at the Center Point Cemetery.\r\n \r\nMemorials may be given to Hill Country District Junior Livestock Show.
