Cullen Ashley McAllen, M.D., M.P.H., of Vanderpool, Texas, passed away on August 19, 2017 on his ranch near Vanderpool. He was born in Edinburg, Texas, to Robert Ashley McAllen and Margaret Looney McAllen on November 15, 1960. He was married to Zemfira Valerevna on March 7, 2001, in Tumen, Russia. \r\n\r\nHe graduated from Texas A & M University, College Station. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Vanderbilt University and his Master of Public Health degree from Emory University. He served as a doctor in various states in the United States. He also served in humanitarian efforts in Mexico, Peru, India, Nepal, Tajikistan, Tibet, Mongolia and Saint Lucia.\r\n\r\nAshley achieved Eagle Scout in Boy Scouts of America and served in the U.S. Naval Reserve. He was an active member of St. Philip's Episcopal Church in Uvalde, Texas. \r\n\r\nHe is preceded in death by grandparents Argyle and Margaret McAllen and James Cullen and Margaret Looney, and by brothers Montgomery McAllen and Geoffrey McAllen. \r\n\r\nAshley is survived by his wife, Zemfira V. McAllen; his children Matthew, Olesya, Robert and Angelina McAllen; siblings Melanie Heartfield and Lowry McAllen; parents Robert and Margaret McAllen, and seven nieces and nephews.\r\n\r\nFuneral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, August 25 at St. Philip's Episcopal Church in Uvalde, Texas, with the Reverend Michael Marsh officiating. Viewing will be at the church at 2PM. Burial will follow at the cemetery in Vanderpool, Texas. \r\n\r\nPallbearers will be Matthew McAllen, Robert (Robbie) McAllen, R. Lowry McAllen, J.
