Doyle “Wayne” Fee

Romans 8:38-39

38 For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Doyle “Wayne” Fee perished this life on January 9th, 2025, at his home in Bandera, Texas. He was less than two weeks away from celebrating his 89th birthday.

Wayne was born on January 21st, 1936, in Bexar County, Texas. He grew up in Bandera. His adult years brought him to the Dallas/Fort Worth area of Texas. He also lived in Bowie, Texas for many years. He enjoyed a tenured career in the airline industry, 36 years with American Airlines. Many friendships were built during his career. After retiring from American Airlines, Wayne embraced a second career in antique dealing, eventually becoming an antique auctioneer. Once retiring for good he and his beloved wife, Patti, moved back to his roots, Bandera.

Wayne loved his family and animals. He enjoyed sports, being outdoors, fishing, grilling, and storytelling. As a younger man, he was skilled at bull riding. He loved to drive long distances, in a truck! He was loving, kind, wise, intelligent, hard working, and transparent. Driving long distances listening to baseball games on the radio in one of his trucks was peaceful to him. He passed this nugget onto his children and grandchildren.

We are thankful that the Texas Rangers won the 2023 MLB World Series, knowing that made him happy. He waited a long time for that event to come to fruition. He has attended and listened to countless Texas Rangers games. He enjoyed watching football in person and on television. Wayne was an avid Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Mavericks, Dallas Stars, and Texas A&M fan.

In recent years, he causally and non-intentionally, started a cat feeding ministry for feral cats around his Bandera residence. Our prayers are fluid in that those cats continue to find water, food, and shelter.

In our sadness, we experience peace knowing that Wayne Fee’s Christian Faith was strong. He embraced salvation and was hopeful in God’s grace. He often spoke of God, referencing as “The Good Lord.” We understand that his aging body slowed him down in recent years. He is now healed; his spiritual body has been born!

Wayne is survived by his children/sons: Thomas “Tom” (Elisangela) Fee, Todd Fee, John Fee, and Brent (Jennifer) Fee; grandchildren: Brittany Carr (Alan), John (Summer) Fee Jr, Sydney Fee, Landry Fee, Lizzy Fee, another (cousins) Landry Fee, and Liam Fee; great grandchildren: Charlotte Carr, Maeve Carr, Adley Carr, John Wayne Fee, and Waylon Fee; brother-in-law: Mitchell Bennett; nephews/nieces; and his beloved dogs: Daisy, Rico, and Dixie.

Wayne was predeceased by the love of his life, wife: Patsy “Patti” Ann Rogers Fee; parents: George and Ila Fee; sisters: Lanelle (Lloyd) Olsen, Georgia (Walter “Buck”) Staudt, and Beatrice “Bea” (Mitchell- living this life and spry at 93 years old) Bennett; brother: Gene (Winnie) Fee; and additional family members/loved ones.

We would like to share our heartfelt thanks with New Century Hospice of Kerrville, TX. What an outstanding medical group! Velda (nurse) and Crystal (medical assistant) are angels on earth. They helped Wayne immensely over the past year since he became a widower in December of 2023. He looked forward to their visits and enjoyed their companionship. They are outstanding medical professionals, providing excellent medical care, becoming dear friends to him.
