Dorothy Ann Tietz, beautiful wife, mother and "G-Ma" passed away on March 25, 2018, at the age of 74 at her home in Pipe Creek, Texas. She was born in Scott, Illinois, to parents James and Elenor. She married DonaldTietz on April 29, 1977 at Jennings Store in Pipe Creek.\r\n\r\nDorothy grew up at Medina Lake, being raised by her grandmother, Jessie Hamilton, who operated Hamilton's Café on Turks Road. It was at the Café that Dorothy met Clinton Oehler, and soon thereafter they had their children. Dorothy was active in the Medina Lake Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She also worked for Bandera Independent School District for several years. Later, Dorothy worked in administrative support roles for several companies including Montgomery Ward, Thousand Trails, Cigna, and Choctaw Casino. \r\nDorothy was an avid angler at heart and loved fishing anytime she could, but she was especially fond of ice fishing in Minnesota and catching bass in Medina Lake. She was an expert seamstress and enjoyed making clothes and quilts for her grandchildren.She loved gardening, cooking, and crocheting. She was fortunate to have lived and experienced many areas in the United States including Hawaii, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Florida, Oklahoma and North Texas.\r\n\r\nDorothy is preceded in death by her husband Don who passed just 10 days earlier; her ex-husband, Clinton Oehler; her parents; and her grandson, Clinton Feriend.\r\n\r\nShe is survived by her daughters Sherry Hearn (Jeff) and Karrie Groves (Bob); sister, Barbara Adams; brother, Paul Richard Langston (Pauline); half-brother, Bob Mathis; grandchildren Jessica Lawrence (Keith) and Amanda and Kelly Groves; great-grandchildren Asher Hernandez, and Kason and Kinsley Lawrence; and several half-brothers and sisters and nieces.\r\n\r\nThe family wishes to have a private celebration but want to extend our sincere thanks to the staff and physicians at Methodist Hospital main and the Methodist Specialty and Transplant Hospital who tried so valiantly to heal and care for her; Dr. Shelly Kohleppel and staff, her best friend Judy Klein, and the many other family, friends and neighbors who have sent their heartfelt condolences.\r\n
