Dorothy Jones

Dorothy Jones, age 95, of Kerrville, passed away June 19, 2020. She had been a resident of Kerrville since 1993. \r\n\r\nShe married Stayton Jones in 1943. Stayton preceded her in death in 1996. They both were active members of Trinity Baptist Church. \r\n\r\nDorothy worked in the oil and gas industry for many years - first in Montana, then in Amarillo, Texas, then in land development in Dallas until she retired to live on their land on Cedar Creek Lake. \r\n\r\nShe was our moral compass who loved her family fiercely. Dorothy liked nothing better than rocking a grandbaby to sleep or cooking for a large family group. She was quiet, but you never doubted what she thought or believed. \r\n\r\nShe is survived by daughter and son-in-law Vicki and Don Vaughan of San Antonio; sons Keith Jones of Denver and Kenneth Jones of Dallas; grandchildren Gaye Lynn Phillips, Robbie Jones, Tim Vaughan, Jenny Martinez and Kris Jones; five great-grandchildren; and 9 great-great-grandchildren. \r\n\r\nFuneral services will be Tuesday, June 23 at 10:30 AM at Grimes Funeral Chapels. Burial to follow at Garden of Memories.\r\n\r\nPallbearers will be Keith and Kenny Jones, Tim Vaughan, Chase Phillips, Tanner Vaughan and Clay Smith.\r\n\r\nShe was loved and will be missed forever.
