Dorisgene Lindsey

Dorisgene Lindsey of Kerrville, Texas, passed from this life into eternal rest September 3rd, 2016. Funeral services will be at the Grimes Funeral Chapels at 11 AM on Thursday, September 8, 2016, with Olden Cook, officiating. Interment will be in Corpus Christi, Texas, the following day at Rose Hill Cemetery.\r\n \r\nDorisgene was a member of the Church of Christ in Kerrville since 1982, when she moved here with her husband Roy. She was baptized as a young lady and added to the Lord's church, and chose to be baptized again at age 73. She loved the Lord, His church, and her many brothers and sisters of the church family.\r\n \r\nDorisgene was born July 4th, 1923, in San Antonio, Texas, to Edward and Lucille Summers. She had a sister Marion. She and Roy were married March 23, 1940, in Corpus Christi.\r\n \r\nAfter 24 years of service as a teller for Corpus Christi Bank and Trust, she retired to care for her elderly parents.\r\n \r\nDorisgene loved her many friends and neighbors.\r\n \r\nShe was a care giver for her ill husband and did so with a cheerful heart and loving hands.\r\n \r\nShe is survived by a nephew, David Lynn Putman and his wife Katherine of Kemp, Texas, several great nephews and nieces, as well as her loving church family.\r\n \r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, and nephew Wayne Putman.\r\n \r\nPallbearers are: Gene Bosse, Skip Conrad, Lawrence Smith, Bill Pintsch, Dave Pullis and Dickie Robinson.\r\n \r\nScripture reading will be John 14: 1-7 and Romans 8:38-39, with Congregational singing: "How Great Thou Art," "Because He Lives," and "Victory in Jesus."\r\n \r\nMemorials and remembrances may be made to Riverside Church of Christ or South African Bible School, c/o Memorial Church of Christ, 900 Echo Lane, Houston, Texas 77024.\r\n
