Doris Watts, of Bandera, Texas, was a wonderful mother, wife, grandmother, friend and person who went to be with the Lord on August 10, 2016. She was born on August 29, 1940 to Troy Boston and Arlie Ruth (Ruede) Pingleton in Pipe Creek, Texas. She married Jerry Watts on May 21, 2000 in Angleton, Texas. \r\n\r\nShe attended St. Joseph's Catholic School through the 7th grade. She graduated from Bandera High School in 1958. She continued her formal education,graduating from cosmetology school and Durham's Business School. \r\n\r\nIn 1960 she married Ernest Kolterman and to this union her twin daughters were born, Peggy Jenice and Ruth Denice. After working in accounting for several years she married Alton Evans and to this union Jennifer Ann and Stephanie Jean were born. \r\n\r\nDoris served many years as a 4-H leader and as a Youth Leader at the Bandera Methodist Church. She was a member of Eastern Star and a Charter Memberof the Rainbow for Girls and served as a mother advisor. \r\n\r\nIn 1978, Doris began her career with the USDA Farm Services Agency (FSA) in Bandera, Texas. After going through office management training, she was assigned to the FSA office in Jasper, Texas. Three years later she was promoted to Brazoria/Galveston County FSA office where she served from 1986 until her retirement in 2001. During this time, she received many awards including three USDA Certificate of Merits and Distinguished Individual Achievement presented by the Secretary of Agriculture in Washington D.C. Doris was also awarded the Business Woman of the Year for Brazoria County. \r\n\r\nHer hobbies included spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, gardening, hunting, sewing and dancing. One of her greatest joys was gaining her pilots license and flying her private plane. \r\n\r\nDoris was preceded in death by her parents, Troy and Arlie Pingleton and her daughters, Jennifer Ann Evans and Peggy Jenice Cooke. \r\n\r\nDoris is survived by her loving husband of 16 years, Jerry Watts; Aunt Betty Ruede; sister, Peggy Adams; daughters, Denice Teich and husband Michael Sr., and Stephanie Stipanovic and husband Paul; grandchildren: Michele Henderson, Jennalee Richardson and husband Danny, Michael Teich, Jr., Travis Eden, Taylor Eden, Stephen Stipanovic and Zachary Stipanovic; great-grandchildren: Kylee Henderson, Bristol Richardson and Braxton Richardson; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. \r\n\r\nMemorial service will be held 3 PM, Saturday, August 13, 2016 at Bandera United Methodist Church with Pastor Larry McRorey officiating. \r\n\r\nMemorials may be given to Lung Cancer Foundation of America, 15 S.
