Doris Pierce

Doris Long Pierce, age 83, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Thursday, November 10, 2016.\r\n \r\nShe was born February 15, 1933 to Fred and Viola (Melvin) Schuster in Helena, Texas. Doris was the seventh born in a family of ten brothers and sisters. She attended Karnes City schools. \r\n \r\nIn 1949, she met her husband, Bob Long. They were married July 11, 1949. From that marriage were born five children - four sons and one daughter, Wayne Long and wife, Kathy of Pipe Creek, Texas, Bobby Long Marti of Cortez, Colorado, Diana Bock and husband, Ronnie Bock of Kerrville, Steve Long of New Mexico, and Daniel Long and wife, Amy of Cortez, Colorado. She had many grandchildren whom she loved dearly. She is also survived by two sisters and one brother, Francis Gonzales of Goliad, Texas, Ethel Thomas of Luling, Texas, Bill Schuster of Lockhart, Texas; and many nephews and nieces. \r\n \r\nDoris and Bob had 50 wonderful years together. He preceded her in death in 1999. \r\n \r\nDoris was a stay at home mom, raising five children. She loved and served her Lord at First Baptist Church of Kerrville where she was active in Sunday School, choir, VBS, community programs, church socials and weekly Ladies visiting group for nursing homes and homebound church members. \r\n \r\nIn 2002, Doris met and married Glenn Pierce of Kerrville. They had seven years together. He preceded her in death in 2009.\r\n \r\nServices will be held 2 PM, Monday, November 14, 2016 at First Baptist Church of Kerrville.
