Dorathea Jackson Franz nee Dorathea Kaiser, of Kerrville, TX passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at a local nursing home. She was born in Harper, TX to Albert H. and Frances Kaiser on August 3, 1924. She was married to Willard Jackson on November 20, 1940 in Mason, TX.\r\n \r\nShe attended Reservation School at Harper. She was employed at Kerrville Telephone Company as a switchboard operator, at Kerrville State Hospital as a caregiver, and worked as a housekeeper at Notre Dame Rectory in Kerrville, TX. She was a member of the Ladies Auxillaries of VFW, DAV, and American Legion in Fredericksburg, TX. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening and fishing with her grandchildren.\r\n \r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Frances Kaiser; two brothers, Werner and Charlie Kaiser; husband, Willard Jackson; and years later, husband, Raymond Franz.\r\n \r\nDorathea is survived by two daughters, Alice Blackburn of Kerrville, and Betty Craig and husband, Charles of Kerrville; five grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.\r\n \r\nVisitation will be Monday, April 6, 2015, 5-7 PM at Grimes Funeral Chapels in Kerrville.\r\n \r\nFuneral services will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2015, 9:30 AM at Notre Dame Catholic Church, Kerrville, TX with burial to follow at Harper Catholic Cemetery, Harper, TX.\r\n \r\nPallbearers will be Dwayne Craig, Patrick Hodges, James Hodges, Ryan Wille, Austin Hodges and Ernst Schneider.\r\n \r\nMemorials may be made to Harper Volunteer Fire Department or a charity of your choice.\r\n \r\nThe family of Dorathea Franz extends thanks to Gentiva Hospice and staff for their compassionate care and concern.\r\n \r\nThe family also wishes to thank all her neighbors and special friends at Lone Star Mobile Home Park for their love and support over the years.\r\n\r\n[contact-form-7 id="73" title="Send Condolences"]
