Dora Rodgers

November 30, 1929 — November 18, 2017

Born to John Henry and Sophia Wegner Niehaus on November 30, 1929 in Karnes City, Texas, Dora went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 18, 2017. Dora was married to Tommy "Todd" Rodgers who predeceased her. She was so looking forward to joining him once again.\r\n \r\nDora was blessed with a beautiful voice which she shared with many. After graduation from Kerrville Tivy High School, she attended Texas Lutheran College on a music scholarship, where she studied violin, piano and voice. Upon leaving college to marry Todd, they had five children whom all survive her: Tom (Karen), John (Carol), Linda (Tex), Jim (Brenda) and Jan (Terry) Pavlica, along with 18 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Also preceding her in death were her brothers, Henry, Helmuth (Boots), Albert and Ottie along with her sisters Marie, Helene and Dolly.\r\n \r\nDora carried on their strong Christian faith as a faithful member of Zion Lutheran Church where she loved to play the piano, sing in the choir and sing many solos. Dora loved to garden and sew but she never mastered the art of swimming. Dora spent her entire life devoted to her children.\r\n \r\nA memorial service and reception will be Monday, December 4th at 11am at Zion Lutheran Church with burial following in Garden of Memories.\r\n \r\nA special Thank You to Hospice Brazos Valley in Bryan, Texas for the love and care shown to our mother. Memorial Contributions may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, Kerrville or Hospice Brazos Valley at 1600 Joseph Drive, Bryan, Texas 77802. Rest in peace Mother.
