Donnie Adams, 84, of Kerrville, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 in Kerrville, Texas. She was born on March 25, 1933 in Bellville, Texas to Joe and Isabel (Wehring) Turner. She married Al Adams on May 11, 1963. They lived in the Houston area most of their working years, with a brief stint in Tulsa, Oklahoma.\r\n \r\nDonnie worked as a bookkeeper and office manager for various companies in the Houston area over the course of her career. She also worked side-by-side with Al when he began his own business. She did the accounting and tax work, and loved traveling to international destinations with him. Upon retirement, Donnie and Al spent three years touring the country in their motorhome. Although they loved that lifestyle, they began to long for a place to call home. They moved to Ingram Oaks in Ingram, Texas in 1997. They enjoyed the relaxed and friendly lifestyle of Ingram Oaks and nearby Kerrville. She was the most happy there, leaving behind numerous friends and neighbors, and came to think of the Kerrville area as her home. She remained in Ingram Oaks after Al's passing in 2003, and moved to Brookdale Senior Living in Kerrville in June 2016.\r\n \r\nShe was preceded in death by her husband Al Adams, her son Greg Phillips, her step-daughter Mary Ellen Ryan, and her brothers John Turner and Jerry Turner.\r\n \r\nShe is survived by her daughter Debbie Breedlove and husband, Greg of Olathe, Kansas, her son Joe Phillips and wife, Vicki of Bayonne, New Jersey, her step-son Mark Adams and wife, Debbie of The Woodlands, Texas, and her sister, Mary Frances Coker of Hallettsville, Texas, as well as 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandson and numerous nieces and nephews.\r\n \r\nVisitation will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 5, 2018, at Grimes Funeral Chapels, 728 Jefferson Street, Kerrville. \r\n\r\nFuneral services will be at 11:00 am on Monday, immediately following the visitation. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery.\r\n \r\nIn lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Impact Christian Fellowship or Peterson Hospice, both of Kerrville.\r\n \r\n
