December 16, 1934 — September 12, 2016

Donna Grace Bowbeer Huth passed away peacefully at her home on September 12, 2016. \r\n \r\nDonna was born to Paul A. and Grace (Wakefield) Bowbeer on December 16, 1934, in Washington, D. C. After three years of art school, she went to work for the CIA transcribing Russian documents for the Berlin Wall project. In 1956 she met her husband, Walter Huth, an Army lieutenant who was on temporary duty translating German wiretaps from the same project. They married December 8, 1956 and had three daughters. \r\n \r\nDonna and Walt moved to Kerrville in 1977 where Donna became involved with the local art community, and she and Walt opened "Donnarts," an arts and crafts store. She loved to travel in the U.S. and abroad, and was packed to fly to Hawaii the day of her death. Donna had so much energy and zest for life and enjoyed playing Mahjong with two groups of friends, exercising at The Center for Fitness, supporting local artists and musicians, playing her piano every day, painting, drawing, gourd art, crochet, needlework, quilting, and writing poetry. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. \r\n \r\nDonna was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Walt. She leaves behind a sister, Sandra Sorrow and husband, Frank of South Carolina, three daughters, Katy & Keith Jones of Kerrville, Christine & Chris Wallace of New Braunfels, and Allison & Brad Bowdon of Cedar Park, grandchildren David & Ashley Jones, Robert & Abigail Jones, Vaughan Christy, Avery Christy, Darrell Bowdon, Spencer Bowdon, and Holly Bowdon, five great-grandchildren, two nephews, four nieces, and many wonderful friends. \r\n \r\nIn lieu of flowers, Donna requested memorials to Zion Children Center, Hill Country Arts Foundation and KACC. \r\n \r\nServices will be held Saturday, September 17, 2016 at 2 pm at Grimes Funeral Chapels.\r\n
