Donald Council

Donald Council, age 71, joined our Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 17, 2018 with his family at his side.\r\n \r\nDon was born in Kerrville, Texas on November 20, 1946 to Jim and Beulah Council. He graduated from Tivy High School in 1965. He had been employed over the years by Mooney Aircraft, Compton Heating and Air, and then became self employed before working at the Kerrville State Hospital, retiring from the Kerrville State Hospital in 2010.\r\n \r\nDon married the love of his life, Barbara Woolbright and to this union two children were born, Paula and Cody and two grandchildren, Matthew and Holly Thompson. He is also survived by two sisters, Christine Flores and Margie Evans; sister-in-law, Mary Jane Council; son-in-law, Scott Nesbitt; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and a special loving caring extended family member, Will Thompson, that he loved very deeply.\r\n \r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Bea Council; and brother, Dwayne Council.\r\n \r\nVisitation will be held starting at 9 AM with a service to follow at 11 AM on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Grimes Funeral Chapels with burial to follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery.\r\n \r\nPallbearers will be Edward Secor, Lee Secor, Cavin Felts, Ed Felts, Tim Brady and Will Thompson. Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Robertson and Delton Gerloff.\r\n \r\nAt Don's request, memorials may be given to the Kerrville Cancer Center or the American Heart Association.\r\n \r\nDon's family would like to thank the doctors and nursing staff of Peterson Regional Medical Center for the love and care that was shown over the many years to Don and his family; and a special thanks to Judith Kuyper for going above and beyond the call of duty and the love shown over the years.\r\n \r\n\r\n
